I have been using Google Translate to follow the commentary on the UEPC tournament topic at Pokexperto's forums, as I wanted to know what people were saying, and it would appear that several Spaniards have some grievances about prior tournaments.
In particular, Malekith seems to describe a concrete case of what he seems to think is a discrimination towards Spaniards in favour of Germans. He also seems to be under the impression that UEPC is German, or run by Germans, while in fact the top people are Danish and Greek (Myself and Cool Ivysaur).
What he might be referring to are cases where people either did not try to contact their opponent through the profile guestbook (As we specifically ask people to do, so that the staff have records to judge, as they do not have access to private messages, by using PGs we can tell whether a person tried to contact their opponent or not for sure) before the given deadline, or did not show up or something, and thus were disqualified, or something similar. However, having said that, it could indeed be possible that a mistake was made in a prior round. Therefore, I would like to make an offer to Malekith, and any other Spanish players who feel they have some sort of grievance about a prior tournament to contact me, so we could hopefully resolve any issues, and if a mistake was found to be have been made, we may be able to offer some sort of compensation.
I will note that there are a few practical issues, I only speak Danish and English, so I may only be able to look into cases where a person can speak English in a conversation with me. Also, prior tournaments are at least six months into the past by now, so it may be hard for a relevant staff member to recall the events entirely, and we would ask that a person point to a degree of evidence, such as profile guestbook comments, private messages (In this case, we ask that they allow us to investigate those directly) or similar. I will say though, I have made it the policy to preserve records of prior tournaments, this sort of situation being exactly such a reason, so it may very well be possible to resolve this.
